Dilip Sen is a well-known music director, composer, actor and singer who is known for movies like Yeh dillagi, Achanak and Valentine’s Day. He is the son of Jamal Sen who was himself a music director. Dilip’s brother Shambhu Sen is both a dance master as well as a music director.

Dilip’s daughter is Simin Sen and is married to Aatif Shaikh. Dilip Sen has a career over three decades which began long back in the year 1988. He kick-started his career by working with Sameer Sen, his uncle. He has worked on many genres of music together with his uncle.

These include Ghazals as well as Bhajans. His uncle was an assistant to Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Pandit Shiva Kumar Sharma, a favorite of Yash Chopra and it is through them that the duo of Dilip and Sameer Sen got the opportunity to give the music for the movie Jeena Marna Tere Sang with starred Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt.

Following this, they got their recognition with two of Yash Chopra's movies, Aina in 1999 and Yeh Dillagi in 1994. The music of both the films was applauded and received appreciation from both the critics and the masses. Further, they together gave the music for the movies Haqueeqat, Raghuveer and Tu Chor mei Sipahi in 1995. Another major hit album was that of Aflatoon in 1997 which starred Akshay Kapoor and Urmila Matonkar. Their graph reached new heights with the music of the films Ziddi in 1997, Salakhen in 1998, Arju Pandit in 1999 and Kohram in 1999.

Some of Dilip Sen's music was even dubbed in other languages like Tamil to reach a wider audience. His other music albums include those of the movies Soorma Bhopali and Hitler in 1988, And her Gardi in 1990, Do Hanso ka Joda and Basanti Tangewali in 1992.

He did albums for Bechain and Muqabla in 1993, Aag in 1994, Teen Moti and The Don in 1995. He also worked in Jurmanaand Angaara in 1996, Ziddi in 1997, Mard in 1998, Zulmi in 1999, Baaghi in 2000, Ittefaq in 2001. His music also featured in Koi Hai in 2003, Jalwa: Fun in Love in 2005, Gulabi in 2014 and Jaana Na Dil Se Door, which is a TV series, in 2016. He has also worked as an actor in Anari No. 1, as a singer in Aina. He is also part of Ramnagar UP 65 which is a 2018 Hindi drama, and is directed by Santosh Kumar Singh.
